Alexi Murdoch

If you haven't seen Away We Go, you might want to - especially if you're a twenty-something on the verge of having kids and moving forward with the solidification of what will be your life for the rest of...well...your life.  Okay, so I understand that I'm doing this blog for my teenage students and you're definitely not on the verge of solidifying what the rest of your life will look like, in fact many of you have yet to figure out who you are, but the movie is amazing.  We watched it on our trip to Manzanita with Kevin and Michelle and it was a great mix of humor, awkwardness, and real, true, emotion.  AND it had an amazing soundtrack.  All of the songs are done by Alexi Murdoch, who is amazing.  I'm a little bit obsessed right now.  Honestly, I have a lot of music I want to buy currently.  This is on the softer side, but it's so good.  He writes the kind of music that soothes and draws out emotion at the same time.  Not exactly dance party material, but so good.
